Cajun Dance Lessons
Cajun dance masters Jim & Karen
teach the three Cajun dances in the "Les Vieux Maniere", the
old traditional manner. We teach the traditional waltz in
the open and closed positions and the ole time Cajun
two-step and one-step. We also offer basic, intermediate
and advanced non-traditional Cajun jitterbug and Swamp Pop
classes.
My dance background is based in ballroom.
Benny and Darlene Borges (two time national
champions) were my instructors. Benny
passed away years ago but Darlene and I
remain close friends. About 20 years
ago my interest in my culture was re-kindled
and I formed the
Cajun Dance
Company.
Our group (Dancers) consists of ten Cajun dance
couples. We have taught at many
venues throughout south Louisiana including Tulane
University. We have performed and provided demonstrations
at hundreds of festivals, conventions and private functions
throughout the United States. Check our
referances page.
We have close relationships
with many of the traditional Cajun and Zydeco bands. We can
offer your group a wide variety of new ideas to make your
event fun, successful and profitable. Let's talk chere!

Hahnville High School School – 200 Tiger
Drive - Boutte, LA
Instructed By Cajun Dance Masters Jim &
Karen
We teach the traditional waltz in the open and closed positions and the ole time Cajun
two-step and one-step.
The Waltz is a smooth flowing dance that
is a
favorite
of Cajun dancers. It is common at a
Cajun dance for the band to playa
Two-Step and then a Waltz.
Jim understands and speaks
the Cajun
language and says Cajun is who I am and proud of
it.
He founded
The Cajun
Dance Company
in 1988 to help preserve the Cajun culture and values of his parents and grandparents.
Come out and pass a good time with your friends
while
learning the dance that
is
native to Louisiana!
